Interview: #13 – Fuck Face (Interviewed by King Gary).

What is the name of your band?
Fuck Face.

Where are you from?
South Philadelphia.

When did the band form?
2003.

How did the band come together?
Drummer Walt and guitarist Dan wanted to play some speed metal, and then turned into a grind band under the name Condemned by Hatred. Later Bob was added on vocals in 2004. CBH played a few shows and then Dan had to part ways with CBH. Meanwhile Bob and Walt changed the bands name to Fuck Face and started using an iPod for live guitar tracks. Then in late 2009 they added new guitarist mike, and a second vocalist Dirty Dave.

Where does the name Fuck Face come from?
It was originally the name of one of our songs, and King Gary suggested that we use that as our band name.

Oh yeah, I remember that! What were some of the other possible names you had? I remember there were some funny ones.
Damn I can’t remember. We had like 4. Bob wanted Flabbersnatch. I think I wanted Hooker Stomper or Boy Molester.

Vinyl

Why is Vinyl superior?
Vinyl just sounds so much better and clearer, plus you hear more of what’s being played.

Have you play many shows (tour, shows with larger bands)?
We’ve played a bunch of shows, I don’t know how many off hand. We have played with the likes of: Anal Cunt, Deicide, Total Fucking Destruction, Brutal Truth, Rumpelstiltskin Grinder, and a bunch more that would take me forever to name.

Of the bands that you named, who was cool and who were assholes?
All the bands were cool except Anal Cunt. Seth is a fuck knob.

Wow, Deicide has been one of my favorites since high school, how were they live? Did you get to meet them?
Deicide was boring live and Glenn Benton was a real dick to everyone. I hung with him back stage but he wouldn’t sign the CDs I brought in, and they cut there set short saying he didn’t like the crowd’s response.

You guys have played with Anal Cunt a few times now, am I right?
Yeah this was the second time playing with them. I grew up listing to them, but can’t stand them as people… retards.

Is the rumor I heard about you, bob, and one of the guys from the touring Anal Cunt line-up all true? The one that you all got fucked up after one of the shows you played together, and then made an adult film reenacting some of the lyrics to both Anal Cunt and Fuck Face songs?
Yeah it’s true. The video is up online somewhere. It’s like the ‘Secret Tales of Anal Cunt and Fuck Face Naked Backstage’.

What are you favorite bands?
Walt’s are: Dying Fetus, Pig Destroyer, Anal Cunt, & Fear Factory. Bob likes from a Second Story Window and Blood Duster. Mike loves GG Allin and old Brooklyn punk and hardcore. Dirty Dave loves Ol’ Dirty Bastard and lots of noise and cyber-grind.

What are your biggest influences?
Dealing with everyday society pissing us off, and life in general. We like to write about real life experiences and turn them into songs. Our song ‘Anal Atrophy’ is about Mike shitting his pants, and our song ‘Clap’ is about Walt taking a girl home after a show and catching an STD from her.

What do you find offensive or obscene?
We are offensive and obscene.

Ok, let me re-phrase that. Is there anything even more offensive and obscene than Fuck Face?
I’m sure there is, but does it offend us if anything makes us laugh?

What is your favorite porno?
Any porn where the chick has a big fat ass.

Who is your favorite porn actor/actress?
Isabella Soprano.

For a skinny girl she has a fatty.

Who is your favorite comic book or cartoon character?
Hmmm. Batman.

Should there be Batman pornography?
That would be hot… Batman fucks Catwoman and Harley Quinn at the same time.

What do your parents think of your band?
They Fucking hate it.

What do you spend the most time doing online?
Jerking off.

Why should people listen to your band?
So they can get all worked up, pissed off, and go rape and rob hookers; or if they love true grindcore.

Would it also be acceptable if hookers got all amped up on your music, and then they went out to rob and rape people? Or am I missing the point here?
That would be cool, but yeah you are missing the point. The point is hookers aren’t people. They are worthless scum that no one cares about, and when you kill one no one cares.

What is your definition of ‘True’ grindcore?
Speed, speed, rape, humor, more speed, and plenty of offensive shit, lots of blast beats, fast guitar, and songs under a min.

What are some examples of fake grindcore?
There are so many bands out there now that say they are grind, but don’t have a fucking clue what grind really is. I can’t think of any band names right now, but there are a ton.
